Teaching and social-emotional experience
I’m Portuguese-Canadian and I moved to Bali in 2019. I hold a Master’s in Teaching, a degree in Psychology and I’m a qualified personal trainer. I’ve spent 20 years teaching children — 17 of them as a primary-school teacher in Canada and Bali, including time as a Social-Emotional Support Teacher at Canggu Community School.
Why Kaizen Kids began
I grew up as an athlete with coaches who focused entirely on the physical — the mental side was never part of the training. So I wanted to build something different: a program where movement and mindset are equal partners. That’s how Kaizen Kids was born.
My approach
Kaizen is the Japanese principle of continuous improvement. To me, that means helping kids become 1% better every day — not by focusing on perfection, but by learning to try, reflect, grow and believe in themselves. My coaching blends movement, mindset, connection and play, so kids build confidence, resilience and emotional awareness while feeling safe, seen and excited to grow.
